This is Angela from Cornwall
My very first Saturday job was as an assistant (and not a very good one) in an extraordinary, ancient castle hotel – walls hung with tapestries, cobwebby wine cellar stocked with bottles three or four times older than I was - the pastry kitchen with racks of breakfast croissants proving, and ice cream churning for the evening service. As my first hospitality experience, it was amazing, and really ruined me for my own early travel experiences (much more about very small tents and even smaller budgets)
Since then, I’ve lived and worked in many different countries, and the best of those experiences have helped me hone what I think is important about a space to stay – from the design, where it’s not only what looks good, but what feels welcoming - through to the experiences you find outside and in the area.
This cottage is a really personal space, I’ve spent lots of time here myself, and my daughter was at University here in town, (she produced all the artwork here). As I know it well, I can help you find the things you want in your stay – maybe that’s a great bakery for the pastry run in the morning, or where to go with your pup for a hot toddy after a brisk January walk, or the closest place to rent a paddleboard (just 10 mins walk away) – just ask me!
I’m always happy to chat on the phone, and I have a great support team locally. I look forward to hosting you!
